Spend 10 days alongside marine conservationists and local community members as you paddleboard, snorkel and swim with one of our planet’s biggest and most enigmatic species: the humpback whale. No experience required.

A largely unknown hotspot for humpback whales, you’ll likely be the only group encountering these giants off some of the most beautifully rugged coastlines in Africa. You’ll also have the chance to encounter rare seahorse species, whale sharks and giant manta rays as we explore this incredible coastline.

Preliminary Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive in Inhambane. You’ll meet everyone on the expedition and settle into your beach fronted villa.
Day 02

You’ll have an intro into paddle boarding and ocean safety before heading out on your first excursion to practice all you’ve learned.
This part of the world sees hundreds of humpbacks during the summer months and it’s likely you’ll encounter these giants on your first paddle.
Day 03

You’ll travel out by private charter with expert conservationists in search of other deep-water species like manta rays, whale sharks and dolphins.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn from dedicated marine biologists who will show you all the ocean has to offer.
We’ll conclude the day by visiting local communities where you’ll sample local cuisine.
Days 4 - 9

You’ll have multiple paddle board excursions to swim with humpbacks, as well as ocean safaris. Alongside this you’ll have the chance to kayak in nearby mangrove systems, snorkel for seahorses, climb giant sand dunes and sail a traditional Dhow.
Our small groups means we can adapt itineraries to suit your interests and level of adventure.
Day 10

After a memorable expedition, you’ll enjoy cocktail sundowners with one of the best sea views in Africa.
